There are a couple of thought processes behind cravings:
1) Don’t eat sugar or carbs
2) Eat everything so you won’t be tempted to eat sugar or carbs.
Which philosophy is the right one? I do not believe that there is one size fits all. Some of us have allergies to everything from peanuts to shellfish to gluten, etc. I have personally done both of the above. When I did aerobic competitions MANY years ago, I would have cheesecake once a year. It did not bother me at all to watch everyone eating all those pies and cakes at Thanksgiving. It was a CHOICE I made
(I think it bothered everyone else though LOL). Now, I eat small amounts of just about everything. BTW, there is no such thing as a “bad” food (unless, of course, you have an allergy). The key is “small” amounts on occasion. This allows me to never feel deprived. I think the challenge with “dieting” is most people equate it to deprivation. The truth is we all need to change our mindset. Diet is the way you eat. Period! When you commit to you and your health, you will be more likely to make the right CHOICE for YOU. Soooo….can you stop those cravings? Maybe and maybe not….but you can make the healthy decision that is right for you.
